Unlocking Seamless Online Transactions: A Step-by-Step Guide to ECPay Integration with RakoSell for Streamlined Payments

ECPay stands out as one of Taiwan's popular third-party payment gateways. They offer versatile payment methods, including online credit card transactions, convenience store codes, convenience store barcodes, ATM virtual codes, and online ATM services. RakoSell has successfully integrated with ECPay, enabling users to register as "ECPay General Members" on their platform. After approval, users can configure payment settings in the RakoSell dashboard. When customers make payments through ECPay's provided methods, the payment status in the dashboard automatically updates, and users can easily withdraw their income through ECPay's platform.

This article guides you through the process of registering as a member on ECPay's homepage and activating payment functions on the RakoSell platform. For individuals operating businesses, we recommend registering as individual members due to simpler procedures. While business and special members enjoy higher collection and withdrawal limits, the requirements and registration procedures are more extensive. Consider ECPay's different account types and their respective details before making a decision.

Step One:

After entering ECPay's member registration page, fill in the required information, read and agree to the terms and conditions, privacy policy, and ECPay platform membership service terms. Click "Free Registration."

Step Two:

Perform phone number verification by checking your text messages for the verification code sent by ECPay. Enter the 6-digit code on the page.

If verification is successful, a message indicating successful phone verification will be displayed.

Step Three:

After successful phone verification, enter basic information. Choose your member type, either individual or business, during this step.

Individual accounts apply as individual members with a combined limit of 300,000 for monthly credit card, non-credit card transactions, and logistics cash on delivery.

Business accounts apply as business members with a combined limit of 500,000 for monthly credit card, non-credit card transactions, and logistics cash on delivery.

The tutorial will continue with the example of an individual member registration.

Fill in the required basic information and submit the data.

Step Four:

Payment service setup process:

  • Enter the store name
  • Choose the product/service category
  • Fill in the sales URL
  • For individual members applying for credit card collection, upload ID card images at this point
  • Choose whether to enable credit card collection in the service selection
  • Enable overseas credit card transactions if dealing with international customers

Note: After submitting the application, ensure that your RakoSell website front end includes the phone number or email you provided during ECPay registration. ECPay will verify your application by checking your RakoSell website, ensuring consistent contact information.

You can modify the website footer by logging into the RakoSell backend, selecting "Website Design" on the left side, finding the relevant information on the website design page, and clicking "Save Site Settings."

If you apply for credit card collection services, business members (business accounts) must upload photos of the company's storefront, warehouse, or office and inventory product images. Individual members (individual accounts) must upload ID card images at this stage.

It is recommended to enable "Credit Card Collection Service" on this page.

Evaluate whether to enable "Overseas Credit Card Transaction Opening." If selected, a window will pop up with additional information. Be sure to read the highlighted notes by ECPay. If you decide not to enable overseas credit card collection at this time, you will need to reapply later, and the process will take an additional 2-3 working days to complete.

Step Five:

After submitting the application in Step Four, a window will appear. Check your email for a message titled "[Member Notification]" for email verification. Follow the link in the email to complete the email verification process.

Step Six:

Click the link to complete the verification. You will be redirected to the ECPay registration success page. Click "Go to Verification" to proceed.

Step Seven:

Click "Immediately Verify" in the "ID Card Verification" section. Please note that you must complete ID card verification before setting up a bank account.

Enter the required ID card information in sequence and click "Submit Verification."

Note: ID card verification must match the name of the bank account holder to ensure successful fund withdrawal.

Step Eight:

After successful identity verification, click "Set Up Bank Account" to add your bank account:

Click on it, fill in your receiving account information, and click "Submit Verification":

After submitting the verification, ECPay will transfer NT$1 to your bank account for verification:

Step Nine:

After completing identity verification and bank account verification, if you have applied for credit card collection services, wait for approval. Check the ECPay front end > Member Area > Collection Audit Information to see if the "Credit Card Collection Audit Status" field shows "Under Review, Cannot Edit Data." Pay attention to whether you receive the audit result notification.

If you have not applied for credit card collection services, it is recommended to check the ECPay front end > Member Area > Collection Audit Information to see if the "Credit Card Collection Audit Status" field shows "Apply."

Confirm Audit Results:

Check the "Credit Card" and "Non-Credit Card" audit status in ECPay front end > Member Area > Collection Audit Information:

Check "Whether it is still within the usage period" and "Whether the current status is enabled" in ECPay backend > Credit Card Collection > Credit Card Authorization Information. On this page, you can also confirm your ECPay collection account's "Domestic and foreign card transaction fee rates."

After confirming that the ECPay general member collection audit has passed, log in to the RakoSell backend, select "Collection Settings" from the left menu, and copy the required data from the ECPay backend to the RakoSell backend (refer to the image below).

How to Obtain the MerchantID, HashKey, and HashIV:

After successfully completing the above process, your ECPay membership status will be that of an "ECPay General Member" (individual or business member).

  1. ECPay Special Member Application:

The current integration between RakoSell and ECPay is for ECPay's "ECPay General Member." If you have specific requirements and functionalities, you can negotiate a contract with ECPay to become an "ECPay Special Member." Please note that ECPay will charge additional annual fees and setup fees for special member services. Special members can enjoy various features (refer to the ECPay website for details):

For details on the contract negotiation process and specific fees, please contact ECPay directly. Note that functionalities provided by "Special Members," such as installment payments, UnionPay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, are not currently supported by RakoSell.
