ECPay is one of the popular third-party payment gateway platforms in Taiwan. They support various payment methods, including online credit card transactions, convenience store codes, convenience store barcodes, ATM virtual codes, and online ATMs. With ECPay, you can conduct online product sales and collect membership subscription fees regularly. RakoSell has successfully integrated with ECPay, and users can refer to our tutorial to register as a "General Member" on ECPay. Once approved, you can configure it in the RakoSell backend for convenient use. When customers make payments through the payment methods provided by ECPay, the payment status in the backend will automatically update, and users can then directly withdraw their income through ECPay's backend. Note: As of June 2022
The current integration between RakoSell and ECPay is for ECPay's "General Members." If customers have specific functional requirements, they can pay an annual fee to ECPay, enter into a contractual agreement, and become "Contract Members" of ECPay (details can be found on the ECPay website). However, payment methods provided by "Contract Members," such as installment payments, UnionPay cards, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, are not currently supported by RakoSell. For further assistance, please contact customer service (see the end of the article):

Credit Card:
Through the integration with ECPay, RakoSell now supports both local and international credit cards in Taiwan, such as VISA, MASTER, JCB, and other issuing organizations. The current local transaction fee is a minimum of 2.75% per transaction (for ECPay General Members). The fee will be deducted from the collected amount, and the allocation will be transferred to the user's ECPay virtual account based on the disbursement days.
Users can check integrated financial information and view each order transaction, disbursement status, and perform credit card closing and refund operations on the ECPay management backend website. This information can also be cross-verified and arranged in the RakoSell management backend website for virtual product/member membership arrangements.
- If users need to activate UnionPay card transactions or use ECPay's Apple Pay/Google Pay services, they must first apply to become an "ECPay Contract Store" and pay the required fees before use.
- When using the credit card payment method, the minimum transaction amount for a single order is 5 NTD, meaning the order must exceed 5 NTD to be established.
ATM Virtual Account:
ECPay can provide a one-time "ATM Virtual Account," allowing customers to transfer or pay through a bank account using physical ATMs, mobile banking apps, or online banking. Some physical ATMs may only be applicable for "payment" functions; please refer to the official ECPay website for details.
Please note: Some banks do not block payment situations where customers enter the wrong payment amount, the code exceeds the deadline but still pays, or customers repeatedly pay. Therefore, it is recommended for stores to remind customers in the "payment instructions" that "if the code exceeds the deadline, please do not pay." Currently, Land Bank, Bank of Taiwan, Chang Hwa Bank, and First Bank are known not to check the ATM account expiration date.

- When using the ATM virtual account payment method, the minimum transaction amount for a single order is 10 NTD, calculated as 10 NTD if less than 10 NTD.
Convenience Store Barcodes/Codes:
Customers can enter codes, print payment receipts, or pay in cash at over 10,000 convenience stores across Taiwan, including 7-ELEVEN, FamilyMart, Hi-Life, and OK. If customers lose the barcode, store owners can download it for customers from the ECPay management backend. For details, refer to the official ECPay website.

Please note: As convenience stores may take up to 5 working days to confirm funds and return information, the order status will be updated at least 6 working days after customer payment. For stores requiring immediate shipment, it is advisable to evaluate before use.

The minimum collection amount for a convenience store barcode is 17 NTD, with a maximum of 20,000 NTD; for a convenience store code, the minimum collection amount is 33 NTD, with a maximum of 6,000 NTD; see Fee and Collection Instructions for details.

When using the convenience store code payment method, the minimum transaction amount for a single order is 30 NTD, meaning the order must exceed 30 NTD to be established.
Online ATMs:
Customers need to insert their bank card into an external card reader to complete the payment. Therefore, they need to download the driver for the card reader in advance and install the specific bank's online ATM component to make payments. Some banks may require the use of the Internet Explorer browser at the time of operation; we recommend informing customers of the operation method in the "payment instructions" field to reduce the failure rate and customer service communication costs.
- When using the online ATM payment method, the minimum transaction amount for a single order is 11 NTD, meaning the order must exceed 11 NTD to be established.

Explanation of Customer Payment Process:
Credit Card Payment Process:
- Customer submits an order on the website.
- Redirects to the ECPay page.
- Enters credit card information.
- Verification.
- Completes payment.
After clicking the "Submit Order" button, the screen will automatically redirect to the ECPay payment page. Customers must enter the correct credit card information and mobile phone number on that page. After submission, they will be redirected to the issuing bank's 3D verification page (activate 3D verification) or the ECPay verification page (if 3D verification is not activated). Customers must enter the correct verification code to complete the payment process.
If customers jump out/close the payment page during the operation, for security considerations on the payment side, they will not be able to return to the same page to make another payment. Customers need to place a new order.
- Payment deadline: Please complete the payment process within 10 minutes of entering the ECPay page.
Convenience Store Code Payment Process:
- Customer submits an order on the website.
- ECPay page.
- Clicks to get the convenience store code.
- Goes to the convenience store machine to enter the code and print the payment slip.
- Pays at the convenience store counter.

After clicking the "Submit Order" button, the screen will automatically redirect to the ECPay page. Customers need to click the "Get Convenience Store Code" button on that page. After obtaining a code, they can enter it at the four major convenience store machines, print a payment slip, and finally pay in cash at the counter.

Payment deadline: The default payment deadline for the code is 7 days. For example, if you get the code at 13:00 on 2022/01/01, the code will be valid until 13:00 on 2022/01/08.

The maximum convenience store code for ECPay General Members is 6,000 NTD; for Contract Members, the convenience store code limit is 20,000 NTD. Refer to the ECPay announcement for details.
Convenience Store Barcode Payment Process:
- Customer submits an order on the website.
- ECPay page.
- Clicks to get the convenience store barcode.
- Saves the screen screenshot / prints with a laser printer.
- Pays at the convenience store counter.
After clicking the "Submit Order" button, the screen will automatically redirect to the ECPay page. Customers need to click the "Get Convenience Store Barcode" button on that page. After obtaining the convenience store barcode, customers can print the barcode with a "laser printer" or take a screenshot with a mobile phone and pay in cash at the counter of the four major convenience stores.

- Payment deadline: The system defaults to 23:59 on the third day after the order is placed.
Online ATM Payment Process:
- Customer submits an order on the website.
- Redirects to the online banking page.
- Inserts the chip bank card into the card reader.
- Enters account information to complete payment.
After clicking the "Submit Order" button, the screen will automatically redirect to the ECPay page. Customers can choose a bank and insert their bank card into a pre-installed card reader to make payment.

3D Verification Mechanism:
3D verification is an internet security authentication service introduced by international issuing organizations Visa, MasterCard, and JCB. It requires customers to enter the correct verification code/static password in the final step of using a credit card for consumption to complete the payment. Whether to enable the 3D verification mechanism depends on the conditions set by individual stores in consultation with the ECPay agreement.
